RP Home Visits PNC Park

On August 20, 2019, residents and staff from the Reformed Presbyterian Home attended a Pirates baseball game at PNC Park.  The residents are always very excited when they can root for the Pirates in person; cheer during the pierogi race and  sing “take me out the ball game”.   We make many trips to the concession stand – for treats such as ice cream, hot dogs, popcorn and nachos!  It was even the first time for one resident to eat nachos.

However, this game was extra special to the residents and staff.   PNC Park posted “Let’s Go Bucs! In Memory of #1 Fan Cathy Jacoby”.  The residents and staff took this time to remember Cathy and celebrate her life.  It was a beautiful day in Pittsburgh with a magnificent sunset and a perfect day to remember Cathy.

Cathy never missed a Pirates game win or lose!  You would often see Cathy wearing her favorite t- shirt or hat regardless of the time of year! Cathy resided at RP Home for many years prior to her passing.

“To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.”
