Mindy Cable Sets Retirement for December 31, 3021

Mindy Cable, Director of Activities, started her long career at the Reformed Presbyterian Home on Valentine’s Day 1983.   Since that day, 39 years ago, Mindy has devoted her time to ensuring our residents have an active and fulfilling life at RP Home.  Of course, Mindy has scheduled many Bingo games, craft activities and games in her years. But most beloved by our residents is when Mindy plays the flute or other  musical instruments for the residents.  RP Home was blessed with Mindy’s knowledge and commitment to music therapy.  She brought those skills and education from her  Slippery Rock University Music Therapy degree.

Mindy Cable, Director of Life Enrichment and Wellness (Activities)

Mindy’s commitment and love for God is demonstrated in her work every day.  She strives to provide a strong spiritual program for all our residents especially providing support our residents at the end of life of their life.  One way she demonstrated this commitment was by developing Bereavement Care Packages for families.  She worked with various board members on this program.

When we lost a co-worker, Mindy thoughtfully planned a memorial service at RP Home which included sharing memories, reading bible passages and a dove release. She always is sure to include other co-worker’s talents and arranged for a staff member to sing at this memorial service.    Ms. Cable brought the staff together to share and support one another at a time of grieving.

There are many more stories and memories to share after 39 years of service!  Please join us for a Retirement Reception on December 30th at 3:00 PM to wish Mindy farewell.

Mindy cable will be truly missed  by residents, family members, volunteers and co-workers.  We thank God for sending Mindy to RP Home to support the residents in their physical, mental and spiritual needs.
