Each year, we celebrate National Volunteer week to recognize our volunteers. This year’s celebration took place the week of April 17th. On Wednesday April 20th, we celebrated National Volunteer Week by recognizing our dedicated volunteers and to thank them for their selfless compassionate work at RP Home.
On April 15th, President Biden declared National Volunteer Week a presidential proclamation to remind the nation that America is a country built on service and to call on individuals to do their part to improve the lives of others. Julie Haley, Director of Admissions, planned a wonderful lunch for our volunteers and managers. Julie and Cara Todhunter, Executive Director, provided kind remarks followed by prayer led by Rev. Ralph Joseph, Board Member. The volunteers were provided with recognition gifts and handmade notes from our residents.
The volunteers who come regularly to RP Home support our residents’ in their mental, social and emotional needs. Our volunteers provide one-on-one visits, lead games, assist residents with arts and crats, and provide spiritual support and many of activities. Other volunteers assist in beautifying the environment (gardening, cleaning, etc.); supporting the office (filing, folding, etc.) and providing transport (taking residents to activities, hair salon, etc.). Every act of service is important to the mission of the RP Home.
If you have interest in joining this caring team of volunteers, please reach out to Julie Haley or apply online!
Acts 20:35 And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’
