Help Us Renovate the Heart of Our Home

The Reformed Presbyterian Home provides quality care to older adults on a spiritual, physical, social, and mental basis. In our 125th year, we have launched a $500,000 Capital Campaign to help us renovate our Chapel — the spiritual and social center of the Home.

All funds raised through this campaign will cover the costs of renovating the Chapel and surrounding area, creating an even more supportive, comfortable, and familiar living environment to those in our care.

“Both of us have only the warmest memories of our years working at the RP Home. It was a privilege to belong to a team of professionals who were united in their desire to serve older people in a manner consistent with the honor and affection that the Bible teaches us to give our parents. We pray for the Home and ask God’s continued blessing on this most important work. We invite you to join us in this campaign to beautify and upgrade the Chapel, the spiritual and social center of the Home.”

About the Campaign

The Chapel, located in the 1957 wing of the Reformed Presbyterian Home, is long overdue for renovation. This important space is in use seven days a week during mornings, afternoons and evenings alike. Activities our residents enjoy in the space include but are not limited to:

  • Worship
  • Funerals
  • Birthday parties
  • Sing-alongs
  • Crafts
  • Movie showings

Renovations will ensure that the Chapel remains an important and accessible space where residents and their families can enjoy each other’s company in attractive, comfortable surroundings. Specific improvements include the following:

  • The updated design will feature durable finishes that will last many years.
  • The entrance from the elevator will be modified to allow easier wheelchair access.
  • Improved heating and cooling systems, as well as lighting and sound technology, will better support the comfort and needs of those with declining physical abilities
  • Spaces immediately adjacent to the Chapel, such as a small meditation room for private gatherings and upgraded restroom facilities, will be included in the renovations.

This work will help the Reformed Presbyterian Home continue its tradition of providing a supportive living environment that centers the spiritual and social well-being of our residents.

Renovations will begin in fall of 2022.

Providing Benevolent Care for Generations

The Reformed Presbyterian Home was opened in 1897 for the purpose of caring for older persons without family or the financial resources to care for themselves. The need for such a facility was great, and the Home filled to capacity its first year. Through its 125 years of service, the Home has grown to the present fully licensed personal care and nursing home serving persons of all faiths. Staying true to its original charitable purpose, the Home has never asked a resident to leave because of insufficient funds. Thanks to generous support from our community, the Home provided $2.2 million in uncompensated, benevolent care last year.
