RP Home to be Acquired by Concordia Lutheran Ministries

February 6, 2026

Dear Residents, Families, and Staff,

I am writing to share an important update about the future of The Reformed Presbyterian Home.  After thoughtful consideration and extensive planning, the Reformed Presbyterian Woman’s Association is pleased to announce that RP Home is being acquired by Concordia Lutheran Ministries. This transition represents a significant step forward and reflects our 128 years of commitment to providing excellence in the care of older adults.

Founded in 1881, Concordia Lutheran Ministries is a faith-based Aging Services Network. As one of the largest nonprofit senior care providers in the country, the organization serves 50,000 people annually through in-home care and inpatient locations. Throughout its system, Concordia offers adult day services, home health care, hospice, medical and rehabilitation services, memory care, personal care, assisted living, respite care, retirement living, skilled nursing/short-term rehab, spiritual care and medical equipment.

We understand that news of a change in ownership can bring questions, and we want to reassure you that our priority remains the well‑being of our residents and the support of our dedicated staff. Daily operations will continue without interruption, and residents will continue to receive the same high‑quality care and services they rely on. Our staff will remain an essential part of this community, and we are committed to supporting them throughout this transition.

The closing process requires approval from several regulatory authorities and could take approximately 60-90 days to officially close and transfer the assets. While many details regarding the transition are still yet to be determined, we plan to hold a number of town hall meetings with employees, residents and families in the coming weeks.  Concordia plans to infuse significant capital resources into several substantial upgrades in the community.

We are confident that this acquisition will strengthen our community and enhance the resources available to residents and staff. Concordia Lutheran Ministries shares our faith-mission values and our commitment to compassionate, resident‑centered care, and we believe this partnership will bring meaningful benefits in the months and years ahead.

Thank you for your trust, your patience, and your continued support. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me 412-321-4139, ext. 2105 or ctodhunter@rphome.org. We are here to support you every step of the way.

Sincerely,

Cara D. Todhunter, Executive Director                                               Marilyn Roll, President of RPWA Board

  1. I guess it was to be expected…I just hope the whole deal is good for RPH employees and residents, and the RP facility will be upgraded for the better, although it has been the best I have seen. I will def be interested in attending the meetings for this since I am POA for a resident.
